AR 4-H Camps for Ages 9 -13

We offer camps with a wide range of learning opportunities. From wilderness adventure to crafts, our 4-H camping program has it all.

Registration for 4-H Members will be through your 4-H Enrollment & Events account unless otherwise noted.

Parents/Volunteers are welcome to attend most of our camps (unless noted as youth only) for the same fee as the youth.  Parents/Volunteers wanting to attend camp will need to complete the volunteer leader screening process.  This usually takes several weeks to be processed so please start the process early.  Contact your county agent on how to begin.

SCHOLARSHIPS for 4-H Members are available.  Scholarships will be awarded based on need and funding availability.  Application deadline has passed.  

Registration will open approximately 1 month prior to registration deadline.  All camps are held at the AR 4-H Center unless otherwise noted.  

Spring Camp is being offered to give youth a quick look at what camp is all about.  It is being held at the same time as Spring Leader Forum.  This camp is a abbreviated version of camp and will focus on general camp activities.

Have a desire to start your own business one day or already have and looking for pointers?  This is the camp for you.  Learn how to turn your talents into a career.
 
Dates:  February 28 - March 1
Ages:  9-19 & adult volunteers

Love the great outdoors but haven't had to opportunity to explore some of the Natural State's beauty?  The High Adventure progam will provide that opportunity.  Explore what our state has to offer - canoeing, rock climbing, and more all while developing leadership skills.  Required training sessions are held at the AR 4-H Center.  The summer trip will travel to other locations in AR.
 
Required Training Dates: Parent/Camper Rally - April 4; Shakedown Training - April 4-5
Trip Dates:  June 21-26
Ages:  13-19 & adult volunteers

These training sessions provide an opportunity to explore from your horse.  Learn the skills needed to camp in the wilderness with your horse.  The horse packing training sessions are open to all ages (must provide own horse).  Youth under 13 must attend with a registered adult.  Youth 13 and older must be able to care for and saddle their horse on their own.  These sessions are primarily designed as training sessions for the High Adventure Horsepacking program.  Those interested in participating in the 2021 out of state trip must attend Session IV along with 2 other sessions.  Youth must be at least 13 by January 1, 2021 in order to participate in the out of state trip.  Training sessions are held at varying locations.  Participants of previous out of state horsepacking trips are only required to attend Session IV, but are welcome to register for/attend any of the others as well.

             Session IV - November 6-8

Have a horse but want to know more?  This is the camp for you (must provide own horse)!  Come develop or improve upon your skills alongside your equine partner.

Ages:  12-18 (youth only)

Beginner Equine Camp is designed for BEGINNERS (no need to own your own horse).  Interested in learning more about what it takes to own/ride a horse?  This camp is for you.  Come learn the basics without needing to own your own horse or equipment.  If you are a beginner but older than 12 and interested in this camp please let us know.

Looking to step outside your comfort zone?  This camp provides many opportunities.  Adventure and Challenge Camp provides opportunities to challenge yourself individually and as a team.  Develop leadership and social skills while rock climbing, zip lining, and completing a high ropes corse.

Ages:  13-15 & adult volunteers

Open to:  4-H and non 4-H members

Junior Camp provides an opportunity to make connections across the state as well as have fun participating in traditional camp activities.  Activities range from canoeing to rock climbing.

Don't let the name fool you.  There will be no macaroni art found at this camp.  Become an artisan in many different areas.  You will develop skills that can be used in projects throughout your life.  Develop new hobbies and interests.  Create art that can be expanded into your own business.  Go home with finished products that can be entered into local, district, and state fairs.  Campers at past camps have learned how to decorate cookies, turn wooden pens on a lathe, create custom signs with a router, make soap, sew pillows, and much more.

We have had to opportunity to offer this camp again after many years of not being offered.  It is in the early stages of development.  Youth campers must attend with a parent/guardian.  One youth:One adult.  Each youth/adult pair will construct a wooden boat together to take home.
